150 Staffs Held Hostage In Bihar Over Unlawful Power Demand
PATNA/AURANGABAD:
A state-run power corporation on Monday claimed that
around one hundred and fifty of their workers and
also their members of the
family have been held hostage by a
grouping of people asking for unlawful power provide to
their villages in Bihar's Aurangabad region .
The 150 staffs of the Bharatiya Rail Bijlee Corporation Limited ( BRBCL ) and even their members of the family are being held hostage in a township since Sunday
evening by the people of
Surar and also neighbouring
villages, Vishwanath Chandan, National
Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) manager, Patna, told Press Trust of India.
"The power produced by
the BRBCL is supplied to the railways together with Bihar government . Transmission and supply of the produced electricity is not in our domain and we can not provide electricity to any other entity ," Mr Chandan stated .
An FIR was made that being said the villagers pelted stones , burnt tyres at the central entrance of
the Bharatiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited ( BRBCL ) township and
even breaksupplies of vital goods for example milk , vegetables and medicines by not permitting anybody either
to come into or leave the township . Over hundred villagers are blocking the township .
BRBCL
is a joint venture between NTPC and Indian Railways located in Aurangabad. BRBCL has been
envisaged with 1000MW (4X250MW) capacity.
