Two of those were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City . An additional was crashed into the Pentagon , the topmost military building in the capital city , Washington DC .

In the effect of the assaults , a large number of U .S . nationals held the scene that the assaults had “changed the globe for a lifetime . “The Bush government declared a combaton terrorism , with the purpose of bringing Osama bin Laden as well as al-Qaeda to justice and also avoiding the emergence of other terrorist communities .

The United States Of America invasion of Afghanistan happened after the September eleven assaults in late 2001 , supported by close up allies . The battle is usually referred to as the U .S . combat in Afghanistan . The community goals were to dismantle al-Qaeda , as well as to reject it a secure base of operations in Afghanistan eliminating the Taliban from power.
