What is blood pressure? | How to control?
Blood is circulated in
our body via blood vessels. At
the time of its circulation the blood can be applied strain on the walls
of vessels. Rhythmic motion of the heart produces this strain. Whenever the heart
contracts, blood is pushed with a pressure into the arteries. So, during that
time there is more strain on the walls of the arteries. This strain is known as ‘systolic
blood pressure’. While the heart gets
bigger, the strain on the
arteries is decreased. This strain is known as diastolic
blood pressure’.
How to measure Blood pressure?
The device used to measure blood pressure
is called sphygmomanometer or blood pressure meter. For an adult man or woman a systolic strain of 120 mm Hg along with a diastolic pressure of 80 mm Hg is considered to be
normal. It is usually represented or known as 120/80. Normally 140/90 pressure should also be said
to be normal. But when the pressure is more than these boundaries it is really said
to be abnormal. High blood pressure eventually causes a heart attack.
Apart from triggering a heart attack, high blood pressure also
can create some other ailments such as
cerebral haemorrhage, stroke, kidney failure or other similar problems.
Genetic factors:
Hereditary reasons are too boosting high blood pressure. If both the mother
and father possess high blood
pressure the chances are 90% that their children are going to inherit this issue. But when just one of the
parents has got high blood
pressure these types of chances
are decreased to 25% only.
Hardening of arteries:
If arteries turn
into narrow and inelastic, the heart has
got to continue to work harder to pump blood into them and consequently, strain on the walls of the arteries raises.
Avoid mental tension:
The first pre-condition to stay
away from high blood pressure is always to keep away from emotional and mental stress. You
have to stay away from not necessary hubbub and always stay happy.
Reduce the consumption of salt:
People who use salt in lesser amounts normally possess a low blood
pressure. Physiologically, refined salt is not at all important
for our body. The natural foods have sufficient quantity of salt. In fact, salt does not provide any
kind of nourishment to the human
body. It just fulfills our tastes. Lemon juice, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and pepper are
great replaces of salt and
can very easily compensate
for the absence of salt in diet plan.
Reduce your weight:
It is assuredly that obesity and high blood pressure are related
to each other. In
case there is over-weight persons, high
blood pressure builds up from
a young age, occasionally as early as
with the second decade of lifetime.
